Capt. Benny's: A Seafood Haven for Cajun and Creole Sandwiches in Houston

They were okay. The fish was fried very good, but lacked flavor. The stuffed crab, was imitation crab, but tasted okay. The margarita was good. The restaurant was clean, service was great, but there was a language barrier. Yet, she did a fantastic job. I'll come back.

Capt. Benny's is Capt Benny's is Capt Benny's. I have been going to Capt Benny's since I can remember. At least 50 years. Thousands of meals over the decades with family and friends. Some no longer on this earth. I still enjoy the old shrimp boat trawler design. Reminds me of my summer's in Cameron Louisiana working with my grandparents on their shrimp boat. Brings back so many memories of eating the freshest seafood out of the trawler kitchen that my grandparents would prepare while shrimping. At Capt. Benny's the food is fresh, especially the oysters, Seafood cooked on or off the bone in tasty fashion. And always get a cup of gumbo with your meal. When your hungry for a seafood meal you can't go wrong with fresh oysters, cup of gumbo and whole cooked flounder or platter. Either broiled or fried.

Great food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. I have eaten here several times, and will continue to patronize this business. They are very helpful and do their best to please. Their customers. The atmosphere is very friendly and calming. My orders are always correct I recommend them highly.

Know what to expect when you order . This is a place for fried seafood- not expensive grilled fish dishes. Seating outside under cabanas. That being said, the fried shrimp are great. Cornmeal batter. Like 15$ and doesn't disappoint.

Ate here earlier today, great food! Reasonably priced and good portions. Staff was on point, frequently checking up on us. Only real issues were the amount of breading on some of the food and there was food on the floor (from a recent customer's child, staff hadn't gotten to cleaning it up yet). Will go here again though!

Four stars only because it could have a little cleaner. But 5 stars for the food. We had whole broiled flounder and it was delicious!! Perfectly cooked, great seasoning and very fresh! The baked oysters are also great. I could have eaten a dozen by myself! We had both garlic butter and parmigiana Beer was good and cold and they have the big bottles of mexican coke. Great place to stop on the way to Hobby airport.

This place was so delectable, never have I ever had seafood like this that I actually enjoyed. The servers were so attentive and amazing and got me excited about the food. We had just came from Galveston and it was better than all the seafood options we had over there. Now I hate tartar sauce but I could not get enough of their house made one. Y'all really had Gordon Ramsey in the back bc that food was so good damn ( only got 4 stars though because the stuffed crab was a bit disappointing )

The oysters were delicious, I had the Oyster PoBoy and I've had the catfish PoBoy before .....the service is impeccable, clean baños !
